Yay for Family Vacations!

We just got to the beach tonight and I am so excited! The promise of another great family vacation is so gratifying after a long week at work. We all walked out to the beach tonight to check it out, and going out in the early evening is my favorite time of day. There was a nice breeze and the sand was cool and Peyton's excitement for picking up shells was funny. I was worried after the sand box episodes that she wouldn't even go on the sand which would make for a boring trip to the beach, but luckily she was fascinated by all the shells and even said "shells" when we came back inside. (She also has begun to say yogurt and ribbit lately.)

More blog and pictures to come from our trip to Asheville last weekend and our trip this weekend to Myrtle Beach!

Peyton is 19 months and 1 week old

I don't know how it happened, but the 26th passed me by for the first time in 19 months without me realizing she was another month older! Crazy! I thought I would make a list, if not for everyone else at least for myself, of some of the fun things we have been experiencing with our sweet pea.
Words she says frequently:
No (as in telling Jamie and I "no" she will not do something)

outside
don't know
mama and dada

New words we think she can say:
Yellow
Green
puzzle
Peypey

Things she can do:
Put her animal and shapes puzzles together
color with crayons
attempts to roll play dough
Put her socks and shoes on
climb up on the stool to wash her hands
turn the water on and off in the bathtub
and
dance like a wild child

Here's some video to demonstrate that last one... (sorry it is a little long- I can't figure out how to edit it right now)

Every time she decided to dance this way, it makes me laugh so much!

Very girly but very cute

We finally have warm weather and today the rain stayed away until late afternoon so we all spent some time outside. Jamie and Peyton are both feeling better after being sick this week, so it was nice to spend time together! Here was our Saturday...
I have always tried to balance being girly with be flexible to do other things too. Well, I think Peyton has only picked up on the girly things because today we went and got sand for her turtle sandbox and she won't even get in it! I don't remember if I had a sandbox when I was little, and I dread to think that one day there will be bugs in it (even though it has a lid.) But she did eventually play with the toys that we had. But when she accidentally spilled sand on herself, you would think it burned her skin! She was so mad that it was in between her toes!

We also captured some photos of her pushing her baby cart around outside and wanting to take her baby to the playground. It was really cute!

With so much excitement today, who knows what tomorrow will bring?!
