I think I'm getting the hang of it...

I was thinking just now-I really think I am getting the hang of teaching 4 year olds. Today I had to deliver the bad news that our Harvest Festival that was supposed to be tomorrow night has been postponed for 2 weeks. I waiting to tell them because I was afraid of the reaction. After building this thing up for several weeks and convincing them all that they should come and tell their parents, I was nervous about their reaction. So I told them that because it was going to rain tomorrow all day (90% chance,) the festival had been moved to another day and they just said, "Oh man!" And then one asked why was it going to rain. So I said because God wanted it to. They accepted it and explained to me that God needed it to rain so the trees and flowers could grow bigger. I was like, "EXACTLY!"
Of course, I'm sure tomorrow something will happen that will make me question everything I just said about getting the hang of it.
And I thought of one more funny thing- every day during rest time, all of the kids who don't go directly to sleep lift their heads off the mat and say, "Mrs. Stewart, all that noise is waking me up." or "Mrs. Stewart, so and so is waking me up." How do you explain to them that if you haven't gone to sleep yet, you cannot be awoken? And that if you keep yelling across the room that so-and-so's talking is waking you up, that you are waking someone else up too? Who knows?
Happy Thursday night TV watching!
